The product reads recorded footage today. We are building the other half of it: attach Video Insight Pro to a camera that is still running, describe what you want watched in plain language, and get told when it happens instead of finding out on Monday.

You cannot use this today. There is no beta to join, no camera you can connect, and no date. It is being built right now, and this page is written in the future tense on purpose.

What is on this page is what we are building and what we are not prepared to promise yet. If you have cameras you would point at it, the form at the bottom is the thing that decides what gets built first.

01 / HOW IT WILL WORK

Three steps, and none of them are a rule builder.

The thing that makes the rest of the product work is that you describe what you are looking for in a sentence. A live feed should not be different.

    Connect the feed

    Whatever your site already streams — an IP camera, an NVR channel, a restream — rather than a new box on the wall. RTSP, RTMP and HLS are the formats we are building against; which of them lands first depends on what people tell us they actually have.

    Say what matters

    One or two sentences, the way you would brief someone on their first shift. The same plain language the library search already takes — no zones to trace, no thresholds to tune before you know what you are looking for.

  3. 03

    Hear about it

    Nothing arrives while nothing happens — a feed that pages you every ten minutes gets muted in a week. When something does happen, the alert says what it saw and when. It will land where the product's other notifications are being built to land: in the app, by email, or in a Slack channel you connect. Not SMS.

02 / WHAT IT WATCHES FOR

Specific things, described the way you would say them.

These are the jobs it is being built for and the instructions people describe wanting to write. They are examples, not a list of detectors that exist today.

  • RETAILLoss prevention
    The exits and the lanes, out of hours and in them: someone leaving through the fire door with a full cart, a till drawer standing open with nobody at it, a shelf cleared into a bag rather than a basket.

    The conflicts a supervisor cannot stand and watch for: a person on foot inside the forklift lane, a hard hat missing past the gate line, someone at height with nothing clipped on, a fire route blocked by a pallet.

  • PROPERTYProperty & wildlife
    Remote ground where nobody is watching the monitor: a vehicle on the access road after dark, something at the feed line that is not livestock, a gate still open after the last shift, a boat at a dock that should be empty.
    > tell me about any vehicle on the north access road between dusk and dawn, and anything larger than a dog near the feed line
  • QAManufacturing & line QA
    The faults that are obvious on camera and expensive an hour later: a carton going down the line with its flap open, a jam building on the infeed, a station standing empty longer than a cycle, a label on crooked.

  • TRAFFICTraffic & parking
    Conditions that need a person told now rather than a report at month end: a vehicle stopped in a live lane, a fire lane blocked past five minutes, a loading bay held long after its limit, a queue backing onto the road.

TRUST / LIMITS

What we can and cannot tell you yet.

Pointing software at a live camera raises fair questions about footage, privacy and the law. Here is where we actually stand, including the parts that are not finished.

  • Nothing is running yet. Live monitoring is not in the product, in beta or otherwise, and we are not quoting a date.
  • Retention is not decided. We have not settled what a live feed keeps, for how long, or where — so this page does not promise a retention window, and it does not promise that nothing is kept either. We will describe it when the product enforces it rather than the other way round.
  • We hold no certifications. No SOC 2, no ISO 27001, no HIPAA BAA. We do not offer SSO/SAML or any data-residency guarantee. Video the product handles today is stored in the United States.
  • Our terms and privacy policy are published drafts, not reviewed documents. The terms and the privacy policy describe the product as it works today and say plainly at the top that a lawyer has not been through them yet. Neither of them covers live monitoring, because live monitoring does not exist. Anything you need in writing about a feed has to be asked for and agreed in writing.
  • Watching people is regulated, and that part is yours. Notice requirements, employee-monitoring and works-council rules, and CCTV law vary by country and by state. Whoever points a camera at people is responsible for having a lawful basis for it. We do not give legal advice and cannot make a deployment lawful on your behalf.

What would you point it at?

We have not priced this yet, and we would rather ask than guess. Five questions about your cameras — they are what decide what this costs and what gets built first.

A rough number is fine. Say below if only some of them matter.
How quickly do you need to know?
Camera brand, recorder, and what it streams (RTSP, RTMP, HLS) if you know. “No idea” is a perfectly good answer.

One reply about live monitoring. We won't use it for anything else, there is nothing to sign up for, and nothing is being charged — we are asking so we can work out what this should cost.

MEANWHILE

What the product does today.

Recorded footage, not feeds: upload or connect a library, ask it questions in plain language, get findings tied to the second they happened, and export the report. That part is real and you can use it this afternoon.

If your footage lands somewhere after the fact — an NVR export, a dashcam pull, a folder per site — that is the shape the product already fits.
